Inca Rail, a 100% Peruvian owned-Company offers authentic rail experiences between the mystical Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu, The Lost City of the Incas. The Incan Fortress town of Ollantaytambo, one of the last Incan bastions and gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu, is also aptly the Inca Rail base. Inca Rail trains depart from Ollantaytambo on a 1 hour 45 minute journey, following the Urubamba River, as the adjacent river and rail tracks meander through lush vegetation, and amazing landscape until it reaches Aguas Calientes, at the foot of Machu Picchu.

Inca Rail offers 3 daily departures from Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu respectively to suit all itineraries and preferences. An early morning 0640hrs departure allows guests to enjoy the sun rising and streaming through the Andes whilst on board, arriving into Machu Picchu for an early start of exploration. A later mid-morning 1115hrs departure allows guests a lie in before the leisurely journey which will get them to Machu Picchu just in time for lunch and an afternoon of exploration. The later 1636hrs departure gives guests the opportunity to enjoy and experience the whole day in the Sacred Valley, before embarking on a late afternoon journey, arriving in time for dinner with an overnight stay in Machu Picchu, and the following day to explore. Inca Rail trains from Machu Picchu to Ollantaytambo depart at 0830hrs, 1430hrs and 1900hrs respectively.
